Valentine’s Day has a way of reminding us to slow down and appreciate the people and moments that matter most. At Perryman’s Bakery, love has always been at the heart of what we do, not just on Valentine’s Day but every day we turn on the ovens and open our doors to our community in North Adelaide.

For us, baking is our love language. It’s in the early mornings, the familiar rhythm of mixing and kneading and the care taken with every tray that leaves our ovens. It’s in the recipes passed down through generations and the pride we take in doing things the same way they’ve always been done. Love, to us, is found in fresh loaves, the sprinkles on a donut and the smell of a Perryman’s classic when you walk through our doors.

Valentine’s Day isn’t only about grand gestures. Often, it’s the small moments that mean the most. Sharing an Apricot Danish over coffee, bringing home a box of Gingerbread Babies for someone special or taking a quiet moment for yourself with something freshly baked. These are simple acts that connect us and they’re the moments we see every day on Tynte Street.

This time of year also gives us a chance to reflect on the people behind the counter and out the back behind the ovens. Our team pours heart and care into everything they do, from the first bake of the morning to the final coffee poured. Their dedication is what allows Perryman’s to feel like a place of warmth and welcome and it’s something we’re deeply proud of.

After more than 100 years of baking, we know that love shows up in many forms. In tradition. In community. And… on Valentine’s Day. We’re reminded of why we do what we do and who we do it for.
